Highways From Previous Meetings What do the Members of this Council wish to do about a possible parking restriction or traffic order on Ladysmith Avenue (solicitor’s office to Eastern Road). Do we have a recommendation to pass on to ECC Highways and/or the Parking Partnership? Changing the name of Mill Street to Mill Lane appears not to be economically  viable but could be designated a Quiet Lane. Our County Councillor did think we could apply when we were discussing HGV problems.   Current Councillor Mrs Jayne Chapman brought up the...

We wait now for the parking partnership to install the furniture and Traffic Orders (due to be enforced on 09/09/16). Transport I am waiting to hear from Hedingham’s and will report verbally if by the meeting I have discussed the service with them.

April 2016 – Transport & Highways

Transport The new bus time tables were due to start on 10/4/16, but no mention of any changes to the 87 service seems to be published. So far it is established that the services which were contracted by County Council are no longer being subsidised. I shall try and find out what the future holds for these services.   Highways Our County Councillor Alan Goggin may mention some of the items in this report, in his report to the council. I attended the Local Highways Panel (LHP) on 07/04/16 at Weeley and a number of Brightlingsea issues that...

The Church Road/Ladysmith Avenue multi-junction. Evidence from the local residents and the Police is still work in progress and hopefully will be complete by the next Council Meeting and possibly ready for sending to the Locality Panel. The Problem of HGV’s attempting to access Mill Street. Work in progress, still gathering and collating evidence for the Locality Panel. Parking restrictions on the Waterside. In view of the fact that there is a planning application being processed for the completion of the Marina and if consent is obtained the...

November 2015 – Transport & Highways

Parking Restrictions at the Waterside – It would be sensible to wait now until the future of the Marina is decided as if consent is granted for planning the building works could start soon after and new traffic orders will be required for the Waterside and ‘Fieldgate Dock’ so the suggested seasonal restrictions could be ‘put on hold’ for now. Road markings – The road markings outside Tesco which need renewing (urgently) are known to County Councillor Goggin, and I understand from him that Essex County Council have raised a ‘job’...
